USANA GLOBAL query

for message broadcast

                                                                                                                                    (Doc.# 7002)

What is a Global Query?

This is a way for you to define the conditions members of your downline must meet in order to receive a particular message broadcast.  For example, let’s say that you want to get a message to everyone in your downline that lives in British Columbia, is a Gold director and speaks French.  By entering the correct query codes or Q-codes, you will be able to instruct the system to sort through your entire downline and send your message just to those people that meet these criteria.

Where do I use this?

First you will need to decide upon the conditions you want to set for a particular message.  Each time you make a new message you will be able to send that message to a single mailbox, a broadcast list of your own making or initiate Global Query by pressing the star(asterisk) key.  After entering the query codes you have chosen, the system will search through all mailboxes in your downline and will deliver your message only to those boxes that meet all of the conditions that you set.

How do I use the Query Codes?

You can use any combination of codes, in any order and as many as you need to define your search.  You will find a complete index of all Query Codes at the end of this document.

How are the codes divided?

There are basically five code types.

1.       State/Province/Area – these are three digit codes beginning with a zero.  There is a code assigned to each state in the US, each province in Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand as well as certain islands.  These codes are be used to send your message to downline distributors who live in a certain state/province/area OR another state/province/area OR some other state/province/area.

2.       Country – these are 2-digit codes beginning with a 1.  There are codes for the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand the UK, the Netherlands and Hong Kong. You would use these to send your broadcast to all distributors who live in the US OR Canada OR Australia OR the UK., etc.

3.       Geographic region – these are 2-digit codes beginning with a 3 for regions of the US only.  You  use these codes to broadcast your message to those distributors in your downline who live in the Eastern US OR the Central US OR the Western US OR the Islands, such as American Samoa, Guam, the Marianna Islands, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

4.       Title – these are 2-digit codes beginning with a 5 or 6.  You use these to define distributor title or level of achievement to receive your broadcast.

5.       Language – these are 2-digit codes beginning with a 7.  You can choose to have your message sent to those of your downline who speak Cantonese OR Chinese OR English OR French OR Spanish.

Examples –

1.       Let’s first look at the example posed in the first question.  You want to broadcast your message to your downline distributors who :

a.      Live in British Columbia (063) AND

b.      Are Gold directors(60) AND

c.       Have a preferred language of French (73).

Your code string would look like this – 0636073.  The system will look at this list of codes and apply them to each mailbox in your downline.  If a distributor lives in British Columbia and is a Gold Director and has a French language preference your message will be sent to that box.  In order to receive your message all of the conditions must be met.

2.       We’ll expand the sort to include more variations.  This time, let’s send your message to your downline distributors who:

a.      Live in British Columbia (063) OR the United States (11) OR the UK (15) AND

b.      Are 1 Star (64) OR 2 Star (65) OR a Gold Director (60) AND

c.       Speak English (71) OR French (73)

Your code string for this query would look like this – 06311156465607173

Unless a mailbox meets one criteria in each of the OR categories, it will not be included on the message broadcast.  Therefore if a distributor lives in the UK is a 3 Star director and has a language preference of French, they would not receive your message because they have failed the condition of not being a 1 Star, 2 Star or Gold Director.

3.       Now, let’s suppose you want to send a message to all of your downline distributors of any title and any language that lives in the Western United States.  You would use region code 33, which defines the Western US.  The system will know that you want to include ALL titles and ALL languages

HINT: If you want to send a message to Every member of your downline regardless of where they live, what their title is or what language they speak, don’t use Global Query.  Instead, send your message to Broadcast List 1, which is built for you by the system and contains all of your downline who are on USANA Voice Mail.
